Aliyah is one of the most popular and richest Professional Wrestler who was born on November 23, 1994 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. A number of racist comments that Al-Areebi had made years ago were found on Al-Areebi’s Twitter account in September 2015. WWE issued a statement in response to the scandal, saying that another person used her account at the time.

Aliyah’s television debut took place on the January 13, 2016, episode of NXT, where she competed in a number one contender’s battle royal for Bayley’s NXT Women’s Championship, which was won by Carmella. In September, Aliyah, now officially working as a heel, started a short alliance with Evans, and the two had an altercation with Dakota Kai and Deonna Purrazzo, which led to a tag team match, where Aliyah and Evans were victorious, making Aliyah’s first victory in over a year.

Al-Areebi was a wrestler on the independent circuit, going by the ring name Jasmin Areebi. She made her debut for Squared Circle Wrestling in Toronto in January 2013. She wrestled in a variety promotions in Canada as well as the United States, including Absolute Intense Wrestling and Pure Wrestling Association.

Nhooph Al–Areebi was a Toronto native. She is of Syrian and Iraqi origin and was raised in strict and conservative homes. She graduated from St. Joseph’s College in 2012 and then went on to George Brown College where she studied nursing. She was also trained in circus arts.

On March 17, 2015, it was reported that Al–Areebi had signed a developmental contract with WWE. Her signing was confirmed by WWE on April 13.
